The Kindergarten Room
4 – 6 years, 1 staff for every 13 children
Since Kindergarten is mainly a before and after school program, we start by spending our mornings engaging in activities or socializing over snacks before getting outside for some fresh air until the start of the school day. We really enjoy being outdoors and exploring therefore we spend as much time outside as we can after school, and we spend the rest of the day enjoying more activities and conversations with each other. We believe in providing a safe and open environment that allows children to explore their space, learn and partake in risky play knowing that we are around to provide them with support. We encourage the children in our care to try to resolve conflicts through conversations and encourage them to develop a sense of autonomy. We want to ensure that our classroom runs on mutual respect because that is what helps us succeed in relationships. We want the children and families in our care to be comfortable, happy, and most importantly have fun while learning.
